First Blog Post of 2025: Exciting Updates!

Happy New Year! As we step into 2025, I’m thrilled to share some updates about recent projects, collaborations, and upcoming events.
It’s been an eventful time, with many accomplishments that I’m excited to highlight.

10 Sculptures Delivered to JR West Japan Digital Solution Headquarters

One of the most significant milestones in December was delivering 10 large sculptures from the Specimen of the Spilled Over series to JR West Japan Digital Solution Headquarters in Osaka.
These sculptures represent the essence of everyday sounds—transforming fleeting auditory moments into visible, vibrant forms.

Each piece is tied to a specific location, such as Osaka, Kanazawa, Kyoto, Hiroshima, and Hakata stations. Two of these sculptures were previously displayed at my solo exhibition at Spiral Garden, but now, they’ve found a permanent home at the JR West Digital Solution Division office in Innogate Osaka.

If you’re interested, I’d be happy to arrange a tour. Here’s more about Innogate Osaka:

Judging the BBS Painting Contest

On December 7th, I had the privilege of serving as a judge for the 7th annual BBS Painting Contest. Organized by Business Brain Ohta Showa (BBS), this competition invites children from elementary to junior high to showcase their creativity under the theme “Your Favorite Scenery.”

The works submitted were incredibly diverse—spanning classical landscapes, surrealism, impressionism, and beyond. It was heartwarming to witness their pure joy in expressing themselves, free from constraints or external judgment. It reminded me of the boundless creativity we often lose as adults.

The award-winning entries and more details can be found here:

I look forward to seeing these talented young artists flourish in the future.

Participating in Rotten Donuts

I’m excited to announce my participation in the Rotten Donuts art platform, which celebrates the concept of “digging for art.” My first submission was featured in Rotten Donuts in 100+Fair Shenzhen, held in China. The piece sold quickly, and the next exhibition in Shenzhen has already started:

Location: VINYL HOUSE
Address: Floor 8, Block 2A, Software Industrial Base, Shenzhen, China

Stay tuned for more updates as I continue exploring this exciting opportunity!

Feature in Aedra Fine Arts

Aedra Fine Arts, a New Jersey-based contemporary art platform, recently featured my Fossils from the Future series. This series, created between 2021 and 2022, marked a turning point in my artistic career, earning international recognition and awards.

I’m currently working on a new piece for this series and can’t wait to share more details soon.

Marginal Art Fair

I’m proud to direct the upcoming Marginal Art Fair in Hirono-machi, Fukushima Prefecture, an area affected by disaster recovery efforts. This inaugural art fair will feature 54 artists from nine countries, showcasing a range of mediums and themes, from traditional crafts to contemporary explorations of nuclear disaster recovery.

The reception will take place on January 25th at Hatago Inn Fukushima Hirono, and everyone is welcome to attend. It’s an exciting step towards fostering artistic expression and community rebuilding.

As we move into this new year, I’m deeply grateful for the opportunities to create, collaborate, and connect. Thank you for supporting my journey. Let’s make 2025 a year full of inspiration and creativity!
Stay tuned for more updates, and feel free to reach out if you’re curious about any of these projects.
